HUNTERSHILL SAFARI TOURS

#1: TOUR THE MAGNIFICENT GARDEN ROUTE AND INTERIOR

You will be collected at the Cape Town International Airport and taken to you hotel in Bantry Bay.  Spend the evening relaxing after your long trip.  Day 1 of the tour starts the next day.

Day 1:  Visit to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned – learn a little of the complex history of South Africa.  Arrive back at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and enjoy the shopping or the fantastic seafood restaurants.  Take the Cable Car up Table Mountain or take a drive to Cape Point.  Visit Boulders Beach and view the penguin breeding reserve.  Sleep in Cape Town.

Day 2: Depart for Stellenbosch and explore the beauty of the Cape Winelands. Stop for a brandy, coffee and chocolate tasting at a famous brandy distillery.

Day 3:  Travel via the town of Montagu on Route 62 to the pretty village of Barrydale.  Route 62 is South Africa’s version of the famous American Route 66.  Visit the World Famous “Ronnies Sex Shop”, which in fact is not a sex shop at all, but an extremely sociable pub in the middle of nowhere!  Ronnie’s friends changed the name of his pub as a joke and the name has stuck.  Business has also apparently improved since the name change.  Spend the night on an Ostrich Farm outside Oudtshoorn, the “feather capital of the world”.

Day 4:  After a fascinating tour of the Ostrich Farm depart for the Cango Caves, one of the most spectacular underground wonders.  Depart for Knysna, probably one of the most beautiful coastal resorts in South Africa, in the heart of the famous Garden Route.  Spend the rest of the day exploring the many galleries, craft stalls and coffee shops.

Day 5:  Explore the Knysna Lagoon.  Enjoy the spectacular view of the “Heads” that  guard the entrance to Knysna’s huge tidal Lagoon.  After lunch depart for Port Elizabeth.

Day 6:  Depart for the Addo Elephant Park. And then on to Huntershill Safaris where your PH will meet you and prepare you for the hunt of your lifetime!

#2: KIDDS BEACH SEASIDE RESORT & DEEP SEA FISHING

Spend some time to unwind either before or after your hunt. Kidds Beach is a typical Eastern Cape coastal resort. Here you can walk to the village Café right on the beachfront and enjoy a delightful meal while trying to spot the ever present dolphins swimming in the waves. If you are lucky you will spot a whale or two frolicking out in the bay. Mingle with the locals at the beachfront pub.

Kidds Beach is also a children’s paradise with the safe beach, lagoon and rock pools to keep them entertained all day long. In December the locals run a children’s programme to keep everyone entertained with beach activities and evening games.

One of the locals runs a deep-sea fishing charter, so if you are a fishing enthusiast why don’t you try out the local waters?

There is a self-catering apartment available on the sea front (sleeps 4 adults and 2 children), or you can try one of the bed & breakfasts. View the self-catering apartment on www.wheretostay.co.za/theoceanview

Kidds Beach is 15 minutes from the East London airport and only 20 minutes away from the city of East London. There are car rental agencies at the airport if you are interested in hiring a vehicle for greater mobility. If you don’t fancy driving on our roads we will gladly take care of all transfers.
